Carnival

On Sunday the dressing of “Genitsaros” and the gathering of the group consists the major event.

Before noon the group assembles outside the City hall, in order to get the Mayor’s permission to dance in the streets of the town to the instruments of “zourna” and “daouli”(drums).

Following a schedules route in detail they dance in groups (bouloukia) until the afternoon, when they take off their masks. During the Carnival period “Genitsaro’s Mask” decorate a lot of balconies in naousa, where as it is worth mentioning the particular way of “Genitsaros” greeting, who hold their hands up steadily and hop, using their whole body.
